I was searching for a novel idea to showcase Feel More Alive when the idea for a writing contest flew into my head when I was finishing up one of the book’s paintings!

 A contest where readers pick their favorite chapter in the book and write a short, inspirational personal essay on that topic or something related. And the prize marries inspiration and art!

I welcome new and unpublished writers as well as those with more experience. This is a down-to-earth writing contest that seeks to spread aliveness above all else. 

750 words or less.   

Three winners will be selected by a professional panel of authors and editors at Citrine Publishing.   

Prizes are as follows. Values include shipping within the US:   

First prize: Your choice of book divider 9 x 12 painting printed on deep edge canvas with sawtooth hook for easy hanging. ($125 value, that includes shipping within the US (except Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico) and most of Canada. 

Second prize: Gift Card Set. Free delivery in the continental US. Outside the US, may require an additional shipping fee. ($50 value, that including shipping.) 

Third prize: The divider painting “awaken” printed on the cover of a 144-page 5 x 8 writing journal. ($25 value, that includes shipping in the continental US.) 

Shipping information: Free canvas delivery in the continental US and Canada. Outside the continental US, any costs above the US shipping charge would need to be added. Gift card set shipped free within the US. Journal shipped free in the continental US . Outside the continental US and parts of Canada may require an additional shipping fee.

• Writers need to buy the book new or buy an ebook and include proof of purchase. Books given by friends as a gift that were bought new are also eligible, if the receipt can be produced. Used copies not eligible.

• Writers may submit one entry only, up to 750 words. Please use Word Count. Anything over 750 words will be ineligible.

• Story submission needs to be received by 11 pm ET on February 15th. No exceptions. Winner to be revealed by March 30, 2022.

• Story needs to be original and not previously published anywhere else, including a blog. 

• Story needs to be inspired by one of the chapters in FMA. Religious and Political stories are not eligible.

• Story needs to be true.  

• Story cannot disparage or malign anyone. 

• Story format can be creative! 

• Author retains copyright and assumes all risk for any legal action taken by anyone because of the essay if selected as a winner or honorable mention.

• Submission of essay assumes acceptance of the contest rules.

• Please submit your proofread story with title and word count, your name, your email address, proof of purchase and the following statement: I am over 18 and a member of the Giulietta Nardone mailing list. I give Giulietta Nardone permission to showcase my entry on the Giulietta Nardone web site if it wins first, second or third prize. 

• The Feel More Alive Contest selections are final. No evaluations will be provided.
